Three type of phenomena occur when light travels from one medium to another.
· Some light comes back through the first is called the reflector of light.
· Some amount of light inter the second medium if the medium is transparent.
· Some amount of is absorbed to the medium
How much of the incident light has to be said depends on two things
· How many angles are being incident light
·Nature through the first and second
There are two types of reflection according to the nature of the reflector surface-
· Regular reflection
§ The reflected ray will remain parallel or
§ Convergent and divergent will turn into bunch
· Extensive reflection
The formula for the reflection of light
· The incident ray is the perpendicular to the point of incidence and the reflected ray is on the same plane
· The angle of incidence and the angle of reflection are always equal
Mirror- where light is regularly reflected
· Plane mirror- that flat surface is used as a mirror
· Spherical mirror- that flat spherical is used as a mirror
§ Convex mirror
§ Concave mirror
Image
· Real image
§ If the light emitted from a point is reflected and actually meets at a second point, then the second point is called the real image of the first point
· Virtual Image
§ The light emitted from any point is reflected if the second seems to be emitted from any other point called virtual image
A few incidents of flat mirrors
§ A flat mirror is burned in a angle of ray the reflected ray at its double angle.
§ The length of the mirror requires at least half the height of the viewer to view its own image in a flat mirror
